Did you know that you can read or listen to books online through Kirklees Libraries? Libby is a free app which offers an ever-growing library of ebooks and audiobooks online. You can access Libby on your smartphone or tablet just by searching for it in your device’s app store.

You can search for books in various categories from African American Fiction to Young Adult Nonfiction, or browse collections with themes like Mental Health Awareness Week and Novels That Shaped the World.

When accessing the ebook or audiobook of your choosing, you can alter the text size and set a reading speed respectively. Here are some handy instructions to help.

To log into Libby, you will need your library card number (the long number near the barcode) and your four-digit PIN. If you don’t know what that is, you can ring Kirklees Libraries at 01484 414868 to find out.

Choose from over 7000 national and international titles in over 60 languages, including many daily and weekend UK newspaper titles and magazine favourites.

Read online or create an account to download for offline convenience with dedicated Android or Apple apps.

Pressreader can be accessed at home or on your mobile device. Pressreader can be found here. Select Kirklees or type in the search box. Enter your library number and PIN. Download the appropriate Android or Apple app for optimised mobile viewing.

After 30 days you will need to log in again to re-authenticate your complimentary Kirklees Library access.
