Taking Time, with Jo Loring-Fisher
Tuesday 12th January, 11am
Streamed live on Kirklees Libraries’ YouTube channel, Facebook and Twitter
Meet author/illustrator Jo Loring-Fisher and find out more about her books, the characters she creates and how she brings them to life.
Schools:
This session is ideal for KS1, but by weaving in themes such as appreciation of nature, mindfulness and poetry, it easily crosses over into KS2. If you’re a teacher who’d like to get involved with your class, drop us an email so we can give you a shout out! (lal@kirklees.gov.uk).

Meet Jo
Hello! I am an artist, author/illustrator & graduate of Cambridge School of Art’s MA in Children’s Book Illustration. I live with my husband and youngest daughter, in the beautiful city of Bath, England.
I love both the city and the countryside and enjoy creating images using a range of materials including collage, ink, paint and printmaking. Much of my inspiration comes from observing the natural world and everyday life.
I’m excited by the scope of subjects that children’s books cover, from light-hearted, to tackling the challenges we all face. I sometimes favour difficult subject matter softened by the use of my chosen materials.
Join me on January 12 when I will read from Taking Time and Maisie’s Scrapbook, show you how I make my characters (you can join in if you’d like to) and answer any questions you may have.
