IN SHORT:

Anime (ah- knee-may) is the shortening of the word animation. In Japan, the word is used to refer to all kinds of animation regardless of style, even though a good portion of Anime is adapted from popular Manga. Outside of Japan and in English, Anime refers specifically to animation produced in Japan.

Manga: Fruits Basket By: Natsuki Takaya

This is my favourite manga of all time. Tohru is an orphan girl who lives in a tent and ends up befriending the Soma family who is cursed to be the Chinese zodiac animals. She is really sweet and helps everyone around her and her school. The manga is really funny but also emotional at times. Also, there are two anime series as well. I really recommend that you read this manga.
